Each class formulates a question on their Learning Circle theme according to criteria for quality research sponsored question.

Is everyone equal in your community? (Think of all the possibilities; sex, gender, age, race, religion, socio-economic status, etc…)

If so, how was this equality achieved?

- If not, why not? In what ways are people unequal?

- What more could be done to improve equality where you live?

 

Present your findings to the group in a creative way.

Could you be friends with such a person? 4) If you were an employee, would you make any differences when it comes to hire people? In our class, we have been discussing mental health issues and equity. We want to understand the connection between mental health, access to treatment and community perceptions.

 

What is your opinion on mental illness and why? How might someone with mental illness be treated differently? What stereotypes are associated with mental illness? Do you think your community provides sufficient support for people with mental health issues? What can we do as members of the community to assure that people with mental illness are treated equitably?
